Prince George, B.C. – Second year College of New Caledonia dental hygiene students spent Tuesday afternoon fitting Prince George Cougar hockey players with sports guards for the upcoming season.
Clinic Coordinator for Dental Studies Heather Brown says it provides valuable work experience for students.
“It’s an awesome work experience in so much as it gives them time to actually construct something for a patient.”
She says it’s also a partnership that benefits the community as a whole.
“The Cougars pay for the service and part of that money goes towards purchasing such items as toothbrush’s and floss which are given out at elder care homes or children’s groups in schools and the like.”
