If you want to see some ugly road work check out pine view area.. Microsurfacing. A culdesac has been completed Near goheen. And it looks horrible .. Hesse place I think it’s called.

Oops. Pinewood area :)

I don’t think we are getting good returns on investments. Otway Road when it was resurfaced this year was cracking before it even cooled. They crack sealed the new asphalt already but still left some cracks unsealed. Queensway is showing cracks already and it has only been paved for a short time. It will look good for the winter games (depending on the the winter weather) and will just reflect the old distresses through in short time. As a taxpayer I find this totally unacceptable.

I agree we get very sub par work when it comes to paving in PG. I am glad to see the atrocious condition of Penn Road is finally being addressed. This road was nearly impassable at times this last winter due to pot holes larger than cars all across the road like a moonscape…. easily the worst road in any BC city. Problem is I seen them pave right over a water filled hole tonight (at turn off to the Willow Cale)… I always though water under the pavement was the cause for undermining the foundation and enabling the cracks… so pave right over a puddle of water? Great quality control going on there… probably be all busted up again by this time next year.

BTW I seen them ripping up the road foundation on some construction for a bridge south of Chetwynd and it was half full of rotten waste wood like they just built the road on top of the slash piles from clearing the forest for the road. That must do wonders for road stability. Probably the same contractor that built the roads around PG.
