PG Public Library Appoints Chief Librarian

Prince George, B.C. – Janet Marren has been appointed Chief Librarian at the Prince George Public Library.

Marren has been with the library since 2006 where she’s held multiple positions including Community Outreach Librarian, Public Service Coordinator, Public Service Manager and finally Acting Chief Librarian during the recruitment process.

“I feel privileged to accept this leadership role at the library and to serve the City of Prince George and Regional District. I have had a great deal of support from the Board, my colleagues at the library and our partners in the community and look forward to working together to provide outstanding library services for Prince George.”

Prior to arriving in PG Marren spent 11 years as the Chief Librarian at the Houston Public Library.

She also possesses a B.A. and a degree in Library Science from the University of Alberta.

Marren officially begins her new role on Monday.
