Prince George, B.C. – The annual Terry Fox Run is underway in Prince George.
It left Community Foundation Park just after 10 am.
Lead organizer Scott McWalter hasn’t yet tallied how many participants are taking part but is pleased with the number of people he’s seen this morning.
“A phenomenal turnout. I’m extremely pleased. It’s events like these that bring out the best in the community.”
He says the goal was to attract 1,000 participants and to raise $20,000 for cancer research and believes they may reach their targets considering, “we’ve all been touched with somebody we know who’s suffered from cancer.”
The 5 km run will loop around Fort George Park and wrap up at noon.
