Victoria Towers Official Opening Today

Prince George, B.C. – This afternoon, Victoria Towers on 20th Avenue will be officially opened.
The building suffered extensive damage from a fire in November of 2011.
The 100 people who lived in the building were displaced.
It would be the fall of 2012 when the Province of BC would announce it had purchased the property and would turn it into subsidized housing. The upgrades and improvements would take longer and cost more than was initially estimated, but in March of 2014, residents would start moving into the refurbished apartments.
This afternoon, representatives from the Federal, Provincial and municipal governments will be on hand to officially open the building.

Stricter rules so better tennants now. Good for the neighbourhood.
What a great move. For once our governments have had a vision.
Cheers
What are the stricter rules?
It could have been turned into a student dormitory to accommodate students.
How many millions of dollars were spent in total?
metalman.
Low income housing has stricter tennant rules that prevent illegal stuff happenning (that used to happen here) and noise restrictions (no loud parties late at night). Heard from some who have lived in them.
