Number of Drug Dealers Red Zoned
Prince George, B.C.- A crackdown on drug trafficking in the downtown has resulted in the arrest of several individuals for a number of drug related charges.
Last month, RCMP in Prince George executed search warrants on three residences in the City as part of this investigation. Those warrants resulted in the seizure of cash and drugs.
Those who have been arrested and now facing drug trafficking charges have been released on conditions specifically tailored to each person. The conditions include being banned (Red Zoned) from the downtown area of Prince George until their court cases have reached a conclusion.
“Sustained enforcement, in combination with environmental design changes are critical with respect to enhanced safety in our downtown” says Inspector Brad Anderson.
Additional drug related arrests are expected.
Inspector Anderson says while some may speculate this action is related to cleaning up the downtown for the Canada Winter Games, he says that is not the case, “It is part of our ongoing crime reduction strategy which has focused on prolific offenders, prolific properties and now specific problem areas of the downtown core.”
In an effort to promote crime reduction through environmental design, changes have recently been made to Millennium Park, and planter boxes along Third have been removed.

That’s excactly the reasons. Some quick clean up before the games
They should be red zoned from all Prince George city otherwise the drug problem from downtown core tumor will spread like a stage 4 cancer to the rest of body of the city. This so called cleaning happened in the mid 80s when the revitalization project in core of PG helped to spread the drug problem cancer (stage 1) to the safer neighborhoods further away and around the park and the hill (stage 2).
The problem should be contained to smaller and smaller regions instead of spreading its reach to other clean regions. Treat it now like a stage 3 cancer or a war on drugs with its center of gravity or tumor in core downtown region and stop its spread.
