BC Hydro Reports Outages in Central Interior

Sunday, October 19, 2014 @ 2:40 PM

Prince George, B.C. – B.C. Hydro is hoping to have power to more than one thousand Central Interior customers restored by early this evening.

Residents in Prince George, Quesnel and Williams Lake have been affected by a total of fifteen outages which appear to have been wind-related. Thirty customers east of the Hart Highway and north of PG pulp Mill Road are out, as are 16 customers in the Ferguson Lake Road/Inglewood Road area. And power is out to five customers along West Lake Estates Road, all three of those outages caused by trees down across Hydro lines.

In the Quesnel area, 206 customers are without power due to downed lines, and in Wells, Hydro says an outage still under investigation has affected 375 customers.

A total of 470 customers in the vicinity of Williams Lake are without power, all but ten of them due to an outage of unknown origin.

And 5 customers in the Sinkut Falls Road area of Vanderhoof are also reporting a power outage, the cause of which is unknown at this time.

B.C. Hydro is working to have all of those matters resolved by about 6 this evening.

If smart meters could only cut down trees along the power lines…

No one wants their trees cut until their power goes out. So much for preventative maintenance, enjoy your loss of power. I feel for you neighbours downstream.
