The Race is on in Quesnel
Quesnel, B.C. – The municipal election in Quensel has been officially declared with a mayoral position and six councillor seats up for grabs.
Bob Simpson and incumbent Mary Sjostrom are the only candidates for mayor while nine candidates are vying for one of six council seats.
They are: John Wilson Brisco (incumbent), Ed Coleman (incumbent), Scott Elliott (incumbent), Ernest Gamache, Kyle Jones, Ron Paull, Laurey-Anne Roodenburg (incumbent), Shawna Siemens, and Sushil Thapar (incumbent).
General voting day is Saturday November 15 from 8 am to 8 pm at Quesnel City Hall, Correlieu Senior Secondary School and Dragon Lake Elementary School.
Advanced polls will take place November 5 and November 8 from 8 am to 8 pm at Quesnel City Hall and on November 12 from 11 am to 4 pm at the CNC/UNBC campus.
Special voting opportunities have been scheduled for November 6 at Dunrovin Park Lodge from 10 am to noon; at Maeford Place on November 6 from 1 pm to 3 pm at Fraser Village on November 7 from 10 am to noon and on November 7 at GR Baker Memorial Hospital from 1 pm to 3pm.
