Harris Plans Announcement

Friday, October 24, 2014 @ 10:00 PM

Prince George, B.C.- Cariboo-Prince George Member of Parliament Dick Harris has called  a news conference  for tomorrow morning in Prince George.

He has  not indicated  the reason  for the  meeting, but there has been growing speculation about his plans for the future.

The Federal election is just a year away and if Harris   plans to retire,  he would be expected to leave enough time for  the riding association to hold a nomination meeting  to select a new  candidate.

It is known there  are at least five  who would be  interested in seeking the nomination, although  only two, Nick Fedorkiw, and Gerald Caron have made their intentions  official.  There  is wide speculation that  Mayor Shari  Green , TJ Grewal and  Todd Doherty will also  be in the running if Harris  decides he will not seek re-election.

Comments

Uh, tj grewal has a website and Facebook page. So yeah, I think there are 3.

BREAKING: Harris spotted at local hardware store testing out wheelbarrows. Generally considered final confirmation that a long serving M.P. will move to phase two and the hard work will begin for postal workers to deliver the avalanche of pension cheques that will arrive month after month without disruption. The distribution can be a bottleneck at times and the trough does require a sturdy wheeled device to ease the withdrawls.

It is tough wallowing at that trough. Trousers never seem to fit…

PG Conservatives have got to vote in someone other than Ms. Green, if Dick really is retiring.

Speaking of those who want power: cut and paste this article – http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-15440/why-narcissists-manipulators-psychopaths-get-power.html

Although I am jealous of the generous pensions with benefits that MPs such as Mr. Harris will receive, and believe that such generosity should be curtailed or at least restrained, Dick Harris once did a fine job of representing this area.
metalman.

Ah well…..

Politics being what it is, I suppose Harris could have expected comments like this from his long time “lefty” opponents.

I suppose getting beat seven times in a row over 22 years is bound to have made them a little irritable.
