Funeral For Cpl. Nathan Cirillo Nears
Hamilton, Ontario – The funeral procession for Corporal Nathan Cirillo has started to make its way to Christ Church Cathedral in Hamilton where the funeral service for the 24 year old will be held.
There are approximately 4500 members of military, and police forces taking part in the procession. Thousands more lining the streets of Hamilton to say their last goodbye to the young man who was gunned down while he was standing guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier at the National War Memorial in Ottawa.
The pall bearers are close military friends of Corporal Cirillo. The casket, draped in the Canadian flag , also carries a belt, bayonet and badge of the Corporal.
Behind the casket walks the family of Corporal Cirillo, including his 5 year old son, Marcus, who is wearing a Glengarry cap and carrying a Canadian Flag.
Dignitaries attending the funeral include the Lieutenant Governor for the Province of Ontario, Prime Minster Harper, and Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau. The funeral is to start at 9:00 Pacific.
