Cariboo-Prince George Up for Grabs?
Prince George, B.C. – Regardless of whoever wins the contentious Cariboo-Prince George Conservative nomination, the riding will be “up for grabs” during the next federal election.
That from former NDP MLA and former federal NDP nominee Lois Boone (Prince George-Peace River).
“I think this time around all ridings are up for grabs, in particular those ridings held by sitting Conservatives because people are so upset with and disturbed by what’s going on with the Harper government.”
She says that includes Harper’s “total ignoring of scientific facts” when it comes to making decisions about the environment and what Boone calls “the most controlled and closed government I’ve ever seen.”
As for Conservative chances should Shari Green be their nominee she says people need to keep into account the size of the riding.
“Green has her supporters and she has people that truly dislike what she did as mayor here but one has to take into consideration that Prince George is just a small portion of the riding. You have the entire Cariboo and all those areas out towards Bella Bella.”
UNBC political science lecturer Jason Morris has also been watching the race closely and says though the riding may seem a safe bet to stay Conservative because of all the high profile candidates, stranger things have happened.
“We have a long way to go to the next election and on the national level we have the Liberals doing well in the polls and we have some signs of an economy that may not be performing as well as the Conservative Government would like it to be so there’s lots of issues that could be game changers in the bigger scope of things.”
As for the status of the NDP nomination drive the party says no meetings have been scheduled. The same goes for the Liberal Party of Canada.

It may be funny to say that the Libs and NDP could run an “old boot” up against Shari Green and win but that’s a risk I’m sure Conservatives are a little nervous to take. Green and her “friends” that control the EDO board are undoubtedly trying to decide the outcome for everyone in the riding of PG Caribou. This IMO is the most undemocratic and disrespectful thing I’ve seen so far by Green and that list is pretty long after the last 3 years as the worst mayor of Prince George. I urge everyone to get their conservative memberships in asap regardless of your political views. The deadline is Nov 20th. You must live in the riding of PG Caribou and be 14 years or older and not hold a current membership with any other federal party or provincial NDP. $15 bucks and 30 minutes of your time on the nomination voting day is a hell of a bargain to get rid of this woman for good!

IMHO. The conservatives will never give up control of Canada. They have the big financial backers to provide whatever funds are required to do this and we have seen their ‘ethics’ at play in the federal scene so we know they will do whatever it takes to win. That is why I believe Shari is the candidate Harper’s handlers would want representing their views to us. That being said what do Shari’s local financial backers expect to gain from their support? ☻

Easy solution Willie! Just ask someone you know and trust and is eligible in the PG Caribou riding to take out a membership on your behalf. That way your voice is heard!
The riding is up for grabs. But not to the Liberals or the NDP.
I think Lois might be overlooking the nature of the narrow way in which most conservatives think. I wouldn’t expect her to respond in any other way, but what she is saying to herself is not what she says out loud because she knows it’s not realistic. The winner of the nomination will be the next MP barring a major unforeseen development.
Heard from a pretty good source that Green and Fedorkiw are working together. I’m pretty disappointed in this as I really liked Fedorkiw. Lookin like Doherty or Grewal will be getting my votes.
Well said Veritas, I was looking at some newspaper articles that I had cut of the Citizen for a couple of years. I was looking at these and I realized omg the things Shari said and what she did tells me she should not be voted in to replace Dick Harris. If you do not have your Conservative membership. Sign asap and come out and vote. After reviewing the other candidates, I am definitely backing TODD DOHERTY!!!!

I know Todd Doherty, and there is no way in hell I would cast a ballot in his favour. I’m really leaning towards Nick Fedorkiw, but I have not heard of this “alliance” with Scari Green. Some one spill the beans, please.
All you have to do to discredit someone is to associate them with Green, even though there’s no evidence of any kind.
The winner of this nomination gets a top tier salary with a gold plated government pension after only six years. There’s a lot at stake.
Also, Dick Harris’s entertainment budget comes in higher than all other MP’s in the country. Party, party….on our dime.

I thought Grewal couldn’t run because he did not have his membership in the required number of days before running? Can anyone confirm this?
L. Boone (NDP) will probably ask Lyn Hall to be the candidate for the NDP in that riding if he doesn’t win the mayoralty race. Then if Green gets selected for the Conservatives it will be interesting times.. ex- mayor versus ex-councilor!!!

Unfortunately Johnny belt knows the truth about all of the alliances. Too bad he does not realize how unethical what they are doing is.
If Johnny belt became ethical they have no idea how much support they would have. Much more than Shari.
A great start would before Johnny belt to say what he knows. They might have a political future but then again maybe I am wrong about who he is.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don’ t know anything about any alliances. I’m just amused at all the anecdotal stories and rumours involving everybody and Sheri Green.

All I know is if green and company have take over the Conservative party in the area so they can get her the conservative seat then she again is proving she is slimed and will do anything to get the seat.. Exactly what we don’t want .
