Operation Red Nose Needs More Volunteers

Saturday, November 8, 2014 @ 6:45 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Volunteer recruitment for this year’s Operation Red Nose campaign is off to a sluggish start.oprn

“It’s been a little slow this year due to the fact we’ve also got the winter games coming,” says volunteer coordinator Karen Toombs.

“At present we have 102 applications in and we are looking for more volunteers at all times.”

She says they’re hoping for 450 volunteers pointing out they won’t be required to commit to nine nights.

“You can commit to one night, two nights or whatever suits your own schedule.”

Toombs says all volunteers are required to be at least 19 years of age and to get a criminal record check.

She says each shift runs from 7:30 pm to 3:00 am and says the service will be offered beginning November 28th and wrapping up on New Year’s Eve.

Anyone interested in volunteering can call Toombs at 250-961-6464 or by going to www.ornpg.ca.
