Prince George, B.C. – With Remembrance Day almost here the Railway & Forestry Museum has made public a private donation it recently received that acknowledged its support of Canada’s troops.

Executive Director Ranjit Gill says a family from Ontario mailed the museum a new “Support Our Troops” flag after noticing their old one was “battered and tattered” by the elements.

She says the letter expressed the family’s gratitude with the museum’s support of Canada’s military including its recognition of “Red Friday’s.”

Gill says the family mailed the flag, (which is currently flying outside the museum) after a visit here last summer.

The donation has special meaning for Gill who is the founder of the Prince George Support Military Families Group and who also facilitated the sponsorship program for 158 Canadian flags, each representing a fallen Canadian soldier from the war in Afghanistan.
