Prince George, B.C. – If you’ve already taken advantage of your privilege of voting in the municipal election or perhaps once you do, you may want to take a break from the political rat race by attending the 11th annual CNC Doggie Fashion Show today.

Yes, as we wait to learn who will become the new top dogs on city council, school board and regional district, candidates of the canine variety, of every pedigree, shape and size will team up with their owners at CNC’s Gathering Place, beginning at 1pm. They’ll compete in categories including Best in Show, Most Original, Best Human/Doggie Co-ordination, Best Doggie Personality and People’s Choice Award.

All proceeds go towards the North Cariboo SPCA.

The entry fee is $10 per dog and $20 for those wanting to register a table at the trade show. A limited number of registrations will be taken today between 11 a.m. and noon. The show is open to not only dogs and their owners, but children, adults and seniors.

Organizer Barb Old, Dean of Community and International Education at CNC, says “It’s so much fun to see the whole family out supporting the SPCA and their four-legged family members as they strut their stuff in the most imaginative costumes. And if your four-legged friend is too shy to participate this year, bring them along to watch and maybe next year will be their time to shine.”
