It doesn’t matter what the results are, I’m already disappointed. Two Mayor candidates that are less than ideal and only a few good Councilor candidates. Even if the few new ones do get on, I fear there will be enough of the old guard to continue to upset the applecart.
I did a big group project for my POLS 338 class and there was some councilor candidates that had very good ideas and would be a great fit for Prince George.
I’m hoping for a high voter turn out! Beat that lousy 28 per cent from 2011.
After 5 polls, we have:
L Hall
B Skakun 3480
M Krause 2919
G Frizzel 2486
A Koelher 2183
T McConnachie 1920
J Merrick 1813
S Scott 1756
D Munoz 1645
At least there appears to be a good representation of women so far!
As far as the Mayoral race goes, the headline might as well be “BETH JAMES – new mayor of Prince George.
So we got:
Lyn Hall
Brian Skakun
Murray Krause
Garth Frizzel
Albert Koehler
Jillian Merrick – highest votes for new member congrats
Frank Everitt
Terri McConnachie – New
Susan Scott – New
Looks like Stolz & Wilber got kicked to the curb.
Looking forward to a clean glass of unmedicated water.
Good to see the two Green sidekicks found their way off council, and Skakun got the most votes of anyone on council including the mayor (out polling all those that wished to run him out of town on a rail last term). Also good to see we have some gender equality on council with good candidates, which can only help to make it more inclusive and balanced.
This will be a better council than the last… not a high standard to beat though. I think the weakness will be a vacillating mayor that can’t stand up to administration… and I hope he can prove us all wrong.

Yes!
Happy with most of the results except the referendum, which suggests that the residents of PG are hobbled in their thinking by junk science.
However, I am encouraged by the fact that the vote on fluoridation is not binding.
Sorry Krusty, but the democratic will of the citizens that voted is binding. If council elect chose to ignore the will of the voter they would loose all good will they now have.
I’d like to thank all of my supporters. I ran this campaign without spending a single cent, without any financial backing, no signs AND without social media! I ran an old school campaign and I’m absolutely thrilled with tonight’s numbers. I managed to garner 7.7℅ of the vote!! Thank you Prince George!
I wish all of the candidates and new council the very best! Job well done folks.
See you again soon!
Eagleone, what good will? We took a collective flyer on these folks. If you think we hold them in esteem until they screw up, I admire your optimism; I think that since most of the councillors are incumbent, the onus is on them to prove they weren’t being pushed around by Green in the term just past. Hence, no automatic assumption of their good intentions much less good work.
And if there was some good will on the part of the electorate it would hopefully be rewarded by the new mayor and council rejecting the majority and keeping fluoridation, not on the baseless opinion of the masses but the expert recommendations of the scientific community.
Oh Ibear…. Just a clueless soul….
Its ok though, you’ll see just how much you dont know :)
this council will hopefully avoid the unneeded expenditures of hiring an american company to figure out how to clear snow in PG
