Today Is Civic Election Day
Prince George, B.C. – Today marks the culmination of the 2014 general election campaign for municipal councils, school boards and regional districts in BC. Eligible voters have from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to go to appointed polling stations and cast their ballot.
In Prince George voters will elect a mayor, eight councilors and seven school trustees, all for four-year terms. There are two candidates for mayor, 25 for councilor and 18 for school board. There is also a referendum asking voters whether they are in favour of the City of Prince George fluoridating its water supply.

In the Fraser-Fort George Regional District, voters will elect one Director from among two candidates in Electoral Area F (Willow River-Upper Fraser), one Director from among three candidates in Electoral Area H (Robson Valley-Canoe) and four Commissioners from among seven candidates for the Bear Lake Community Commission. All positions will be for four-year terms.

Voters must present two pieces of identification as proof of identity and residence, and one of the two pieces must contain your signature. To vote you must be 18 years of age or older, a Canadian citizen, a resident of British Columbia for at least six months, a resident of your community for at least 30 days, and must not be disqualified under the Local Government Act, or any other enactment, or by law from voting in a local election.
