After Hiatus, Cobb Back As WL Mayor

Williams Lake, BC – Walt Cobb will be back behind the mayor’s desk in Williams Lake…

Cobb has defeated incumbent mayor Kerry Cook.  In fact, Cobb’s closest competitor was councillor Surinderpal Rathor.  Cobb garnered 1334 votes, to Rathor’s 1219, followed by 880 ballots cast for Cook.  The fourth candidate, John Bjornstrom received just 91 votes.

Cobb served two terms as the city’s mayor prior to being elected the Liberal MLA for Cariboo South from 2001 to 2005.

The six successful candidates for councillor (in order of votes cast) are:

Scott Nelson – 1946 votes

Jason Ryll – 1789 votes

Craig Smith – 1688 votes

Sue Zacharias (incumbent) – 1577 votes

Ivan Bonnell  (incumbent) – 1501 votes

Laurie Walters (incumbent) – 1500 votes
