AQ Advisory for Prince George

Prince George, B.C. – An Air Quality Advisory has been issued for Prince George.
The Ministry of environment says there are high concentrations of both PM10 and PM2.5 from smoke and dust in the area.
The 24 hour average PM2.5 concentration is 26.1 micrograms per cubic metre and the PM10 24 hour average is 64.1 micrograms per cubic metre. Currently the hourly particulate readings are dropping but weak dispersion due to stagnant air is likely to keep concentrations above thresholds for another day.
The declaration of an Air Quality Advisory means the City of Prince George will be offering free transit (Free fare for Clean Air) as of midnight tonight, until midnight of the day the advisory is cancelled

This is only 3 days late! We don’t need MOE to call it, look outside and see the inversion since Monday. Geesh….
The MOE monitors air quality across BC and George is no exception. Someone has to look after you people that have had poor air qulity for years past.
Cheers
Does ridership actually increase on these days?
I don’t think ridership increases at all. But I betcha transit revenue decreases
Free transit gives the panhandlers more options.
