System Repaired at YXS
Prince George, B.C.- The Automated Weather System operated by NAV Canada has been repaired at the Prince George Airport.
The technician arrived just before midnight last night, and the first flight in was an Air Canada flight that arrived at 12:47 this morning. That meant there was an Air Canada plane here for the 6:36 departure this morning and that flight left on time.
Passengers are still advised to check with the airport for up to date flight arrival and departures as there were no early morning WestJet flights out of Prince George again this morning.
The Airport will have more information later this morning on rescue flights.
As you can see the weather icon on 250News is now operating properly which means the Automated Weather System at the airport is once again providing information to Environment Canada.

Airport shut down for a part that took only minutes to fix. I wonder if the airport would have shutdown if the tower was still manned or the flight service station was still in service.
Air and ground operations at the airport talk to the flight service station in Williams Lake. No eyes here from what I have been told.
So if there is no one in the tower, who runs the flight control here? And who are the planes talking to?
Just wanna say a Huge Thankyou to that there Nav Can Technician, hope he’s getting a good sleep. Drive through crap from Ft. Nelson, fix airport,
have a well deserved beer, sleep!
And people wonder why YXS isn’t a busy transportation hub for northern B.C..
Contractor, Williams Lake.
If it was fixed why is the weather still not working on this page? I thought. That was what was causing the temperature above from showing anything…
