Prince George, B.C. – Yes, the roads are slippery.
If you have any doubts, take a look at the damage done this afternoon when a PG RCMP cruiser and a Mercedes collided with each other on First Avenue.
No one hurt.
Police are investigating this crash and have not yet said what the contributing factors might be in this particular incident, but the message to all drivers remains the same, reduce your speed, adjust your driving to the conditions.

Pit maneuver gone bad costing the tax payers $35,000.Practice makes perfect. Lucky no one was hurt.
All of First Avenue is 50km/h under ideal driving conditions.
I thought that front bumper would be stronger than that. I guess it is just for looks
Naw the only strong part of the whole cruiser is the push bar on the front mounted to 18″ if foam crash cushion.
Aww damn, one of the new ones too.
Hey maverick, are you the only person that has collision insurance.
Not likely that a penny of your precious tax dollars will be spent those repairs.
Pardon me, maybe a deductible.
Drop in the bucket compared to the other wasted dollars in this town.
cdz, I seem to remember someone saying that the RCMP are self-insured, so they will pay for the repairs if the member was at fault. If that is in fact the case, then the RCMP will be paying the costs with our tax dollars!
The Mercedes folded like a tin can.
By the looks of it the Benz turned in front of the cruiser.
Either that or it was sliding out of control.
Don’t assume the cedes was in the wrong. Having a light show on your roof doesn’t make a perfect driver
The taxpayer will cover the cost of the cruiser. Perhaps, they will go after the Merc’s insurance. RCMP vehicles are not insured.
i have noticed that the police are one of the biggest offenders of not obeying speed limit signs – they have passed me often with no lights or sirens, just speeding as though they have the right – personally i think they ought to be held to a higher standard and be out there setting a good example – like the old saying “monkey see, monkey do” it only serves to make most people believe that if the cops can drive that way then they can as well. i am not saying it was the police officers’ fault that this accident happened, just sharing my observation
Are you OK axman? I know it was the cops fault.
Cheers
