OR

The  nomination has been  under scrutiny  over  the manner in which the  riding association  executive was selected at its  AGM last spring and the denial of  T.J. Grewal as a  nominee because his membership was  about  one week short of the  eligibility  period.

There are  three  people vying  to be  named the Conservative Candidate for the riding,  they are Todd Doherty, Nick Fedorkiw and Shari Green.

Friday? During the day? That’s one way to make sure Quesnel isn’t very well represented…

I was thinking the exact same thing, and only open for 2 hours.

Go Nick!

After Green fails, maybe she will Go AWAY forever
Vote for Todd

Go Todd go!!! Todd will do better by far!!!!!! :) :)

Regardless as to how this goes down, I’m happy I paid for the right to vote against Shari. I did my part, let’s hope more people do the same.

I’m sure TJ has the Sikh community vote in Quesnel. Hours are interesting.

Only danger here is, if the vote is split, it will mean Shari gets in. Maybe that is OK if you want NDP or the Liberals to get in. I think if Nick or Todd has less than 1,000 people saying they will vote for them they should step aside.

I cannot imagine Shari getting more than a 1,000 votes, but you never know. She might be as good as she was as a mayor. Personally I hope she is looking for a job and has the same success as Dan had when he lost the mayor’s chair. Too bad we lost an excellent person.

This idea of staying to the end no matter what is stupid, unless you want to split the vote.

Oh, by the way, just because Shari is a woman is not a good reason to vote for her. I would vote for her if she were as capable as the three ladies who just got into council, but I will only vote for you if you are good at what you do.

You know; fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice shame on me.
I hope people are not caught on this one.

I am glad I am not voting as , like our city elections, there is nothing here to vote for…..

The way Sheri sells out and how,she hijacked the conservative riding assoc shows this person will do anything she has to to win the seat. Best thing for PG, BC and Canada is for Sherri to no longer be in politics.

PGGUYY – absolutely agree that gender should have nothing to do with ability. Can someone explain the voting process ex) do you need majority vote or just highest number of votes? If Green wins for some reason, there will be a lot of people willing to switch parties to support someone running against her.

If you took out a membership, make sure you vote!! Of membership holders, they expect about 1/2 will actually vote. That would favor Green.

In my opinion Shari Green has the qualities Harper wants in his MPs. ☻

Is there anything stopping the Quesnel members from coming up to PG on Saturday to cast their vote? That the Quesnel vote is being held in the middle of a workday is about as sleazy as cutting off TJ Grewal’s eligibility by one week. These people (Cameron and Green) are disgusting.

Absolutely nothing favours green at this point. She is finished at this vote or the next federal election. After one of those potential defeats, she will leave town and never be heard from again. People with egos like hers don’t stick around to face the people and the music without any power to wield. Wait and see minions.

People from Quesnel, Williams Lake, or Vanderhoof, can vote in Prince George if they chose to. As long as you are a member and live in the riding you can vote.

There could be a slight problem however, and that is if no one gets 51% on the first ballot, then the person with the least amount of votes drops out and there is a second ballot. I assume that they would then have to do the whole routine over again.

Seems to be a lot of driving involved here. Hmmmmm. Wonder if Sherri will be lucky enough to have a supporter who has a plane, or a helicopter.

Yes, Shari Green getting out of politics will be a blessing to the Dick Harris riding, the Province of BC and the Federal Conservative Party. She has tainted politics throughout BC. She was the worst mayor PG has ever had, not to mention the highest maintenance and most high priced mayor PG has ever had. Good bye Shari…..we don’t want you in the public eye ever again.

Palopu, hopefully The weather isn’t FAIR to fly .

I think that the weather will be good enough for a flying house to land on one of the candidates :)

“I’ll get you my pretty!!”

Might want to avoid PGGCC that day.

Can anyone tell me why Jordan Bateman is endorsing Shari Green?

I am in the understanding the Canadian Taxpayers Federation is to stay neutral. Below is a quote under supporters.

sharigreen.ca/supporters –

Jordan Bateman
B.C. Director, Canadian Taxpayers Federation…comments made to Kelowna audience in October, 2014
Shari Green fought the good fight for taxpayers in Prince George, delivering B.C.’s first net-zero municipal contract and saving residents $800,000 a year in labor costs. After an unfathomable string of 28 straight years of pay raises, CUPE took zeroes for two years, thanks to Mayor Green and her council’s savvy negotiating and willingness to push for what they felt was fair. Taxpayers need that kind of leadership everywhere.

It would be helpful if we had an official response to the voting procedure for this nomination.
But, here is my understanding of the process:
The vote will be by preferential ballot. This means that you have the option of ranking all candidates. If you place, say Ms Purple, on the last preference, your vote will not go to her. Of course, if you rank only one candidate and if that person is pulled if he/she is at the bottom, you have lost your vote – and mathematically the 50% plus 1 threshold will be lower. A similar situation can occur if you only rank two out of the three.
As I see it, there can be no vote splitting on this type of process. So, in order to win the nomination, the winner must have 50% plus one to win.
SO, for those that can, make sure you vote!!!!

I think Jordan got mixed up with lies, Damn lies and statistics. Yes Shari negotiated the lowest raise but the unions already knew that was coming. Their wages in the previous 5 were 3-3-3-3-3. When most other unions were 0 as they negotiated after the crash. Just crazy timing.

So she managed to tick everyone off and negotiated a raise in alignment with what they probably would have gone without a strike, if they had been treated fairly at the table. Thus she got the union to jump into the last election to get fair treatment and not stupid negotiating tactiques.

Yes I want her on my negotiations team. NOT!

I believe Sherry taught a lot of us never to vote for someone like her. Just sayin on a positive note. Vote Yes for Todd!

Vote for Nick ! Don’t let Green or DOHerty near the big trough.

You never really know but it seems like Nick has small pockets of support but but it does not add up to much. I think you will be disappointed if you vote for Nick. First I am not site he has the support he says he has and secound you will never see him again. Who knew about Nick before the nomination? I certainly did not.

Digitus…….Oh I see, you want to have Nick at the big trough??

@gimmeabreak – that is funny. :) Let’s hope we get someone who is about the region and the people who live here. That is the best we can do.

Just read the Citizen this am.Statement by Green quote”If they’re looking for somebody who is going to be heard around the caucus table, somebody who has some community context in each of the areas of this riding… certainly those are things that I have” Green said. Give me a break. I remember this time last year, our streets did not see a grader for weeks, and were a Mess!! This year has definitely improved. Shari you never listened to the people. I spoke to couple of co workers a few days ago, their comment” Shari should resign from politics. Todd Doherty is the number one candidate in my mind. Come out and vote, if you don’t vote quit your bitching!!!!

2 hours to vote in Vanderhoof, Quesnel, and Williams Lake! You gotta be kidding….and just noticed that in Quesnel the voting place (Sandman Hotel) is about as far from town centre as you can get…at least 15 minutes each way from downtown and Westside. Hmmmm wonder if there is some tactics at play here considering there is a huge Indo Canadian vote that resides on the Westside. Is this some attempt to suppress that vote? Word is that Shari Green has none of that vote in Quesnel.

I said 15 min…..make that 25 (hit wrong button)

Would never vote for any of these people.

Looks like TJ is backing TD.
Talking with a few people and it appears they too have had calls from each party member. This is to say only the males of a household and not the females. Hmmmm….wonder why when both are registered?

So Grewal’s backing Todd. I’ll vote for Todd so as not to split the vote.
