Prince George, B.C – At first glance the two structures in the lobby of the Prince George Civic Centre look like waves of wood.
Made of pieces of 2×4 lumber, all donated by the Novak Family the owners of Dunkley Lumber, the wall will be a legacy piece for the City.
For just $100 a customized plaque will be placed on the wall.
“Initially we had hoped to sell 5,000 plaques” says Games CEO Stu Ballantyne, “But these two pieces have been designed to handle 3,000 plaques, maybe some day it can expand.”
While the wall has been many months in the planning and design stage, the construction on site has taken four days “This is a bit of a dream for the Games. Rob Novak the Novak family and Dunkley Lumber were really supportive from the get go.”

This looks pretty cool. I like it much better than some of the rather drab “public art” we’ve seen recently.
