James on Leave From City Manager Post

Prince George, B.C. – Just over twenty months into her tenure as the City Manager in Prince George, members of City Council have been informed that Beth James is on administrative leave.

Councilors received that information earlier this week. Director of CorporateBETH JAMES Services Kathleen Soltis was appointed acting City Manager in the absence of James (right).

Soltis had served in the capacity as acting City Manager in the 6-month period between the departure of former City Manager Derek Bates in October 2012 and the hiring of James, who officially took over the office on May 1st, 2013. Bates had abruptly tendered his resignation in August of 2012.

The City Manager position carries a salary of $212,000 per year.
