Prince George Man Dies in Crash
Prince George, B.C. – A single vehicle crash on highway 97 has claimed the life of a Prince George man.RCMP say just before 3 yesterday afternoon, a southbound Ford F350 pick up lost control, crossed the center line, went off road, and struck a power pole about 15 kms north of the Mackenzie Junction.
The 51 year old driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The pick up will undergo a mechanical inspection, a report is being compiled by the Collision Reconstructionist, and the BC COroners Service will also provide its findings in an effort to determine the cause of the crash.
On January29, 2015 at 2:44 p.m. the Mackenzie RCMP were notified of a single vehicle collision approximately 15kms north of the Hwy 39 junction to Mackenzie.
Officers arrived on scene to find that a southbound Ford F350 pick up had lost control, crossed the center line, traveled off the roadway and struck a power pole.
Unfortunately the driver, a 51 year old Prince George man succumbed to his injuries on scene. The name of the driver will not be released at this time pending notification of the Next of Kin. The BC Coroners Service will be responsible for any details.
The name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
The Prince George Regional Provincial Traffic Services Unit is asking anyone traveling Highway #97 in this area on January 29th, 2015, who may have seen this pick-up truck prior to the collision to please call them at (250) 649-4004.
