Prince George  has an ‘ap’ to show  priority routes for snow removal – image courtesy City of Prince George.

Prince George, B.C.-  Need to know  where your street  fits on the  snow clearing priority plan?

There’s an ‘ap’ for that. The City of Prince George has  just released a mobile friendly snow and ice operations map.  You can access the map here or by  accessing the link on the City’s Snow Operations web page  .

The map allows you to click on any road  within  the City to  determine its snow removal priority level and  applicable parking restrictions.  The map is ready to use for smartphones, tablets and desktops.

Not for nothin’, but the spelling is ‘App’.

Zero value. Let us know in real time , is my street or area scheduled in the next 24 – 48 hours. Put some gps on the graders.
This is no better than the garbage pickup calendar.

When I saw the headline I was thinking “what a waste of money”.

Glad to see the city didn’t actually spend money on a snow removal app. It is just a link to a map on their website that says main streets and downtown are priority 1, secondary streets are priority 2 and residential streets are 3rd.

Poorly written headline. Just fishing for clicks. Well you got me.

“Ap” is the internet slang for application. So we will let the headline stand as is. If “app” is acceptable so be it, thank you.

Actually the term is indeed “App”. Channel your inner gus and google it. :)

But this app doesn’t appear to be overly useful. Where they plan to be and where they actually get to are two very different beasts.

I notice that city hall parking lot seems to be the top priority though. Odd.

I ate an APple while I was watched the snowplow go by, does that count?

As defined by Urban Dictionary.

app

Shortened form of ‘application.’ Popularized by Apple Computers Inc. with the introduction of the iPhone.

For someone of your age Ben AP stood for Associated Press:P

Sorry, it’s App . Never been Ap and never going to be Ap. No where does it say that Ap is an internet slang for application.
Ap is not interchangeable with App. Grade schooler know they it is Ap, hell, even granny gums knows it’s App. Why not just admit that you are wrong and change it?

But I’m sure Ben could use “far-out man”,”groovy”,”daddy-o” and even “hepcat” in proper context:D

Pathetic, you guys make such a big deal of nothing!! Who cares, you get the point.

Don’t wig-out or flip your lid Ben, your DA might get messed up.

An access point is totally different than an APPlication running on a smart device. You are wrong, admit it add a P to the headline and move on:-/

Aps make people lazier………..LOL

So is Apple wrong then Ben?

“Browse and download apps to your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch from the App Store. The App Store has more than one million apps and games for your iOS …”

If nothing else, that map was good for a laugh.
