Prince George, B.C. – It is Family Day in B.C., a holiday for most .
This is the third year for the February holiday and communities throughout the province have scheduled events.
Here in Prince George, the City is hosting the second of two days of public skate events. Not only do the events celebrate family day, they are part of the City’s 100th anniversary celebrations.
You are encouraged to bring along family and friends to the Duchess Park Community Ice Rink from 3-63-6 pm for a skate , some hot chocolate and some goodies. Don’t forget to bring along helmets.
There are events taking place all over the province, you can click here to see if there is one taking place near you.

Any idea when they City is going to turn the lights back on at Duchess Park? They shut all of the lights off months ago to prep for the bathroom install. Still no lights a couple months later. No lights on the paths, no lights on the skating rink for people in the evening. It’s too bad, hopefully they fix it soon.
too bad I can’t enjoy any of the fun family day activities. No transit=shut out of the fun.

Call a cab

Shouldn’t have to call a cab. Public transit should be running.
Can’t wait till you are in charge of our city Axman.. Will be utopia I am sure…lol
Ask for a ride on Facebook sarah . We just survived snowmagedon . It worked a treat for getting our seniors and handicaped dug out and rides to town and back .
Axman is right . Transit should be running . Not running puts people in harms way .

First order of business would be to kick you out. You’re an annoying little man. :)
Transit shut down on holidays must be a pain for those working on those days.
If you kick people, out for, being annoying you would be driving the bus leaving axman..lol
Axman . Greenparty.ca read what ms. May has to say about bill c51 . It’s spine tinglingly frighting . She’s a lawyer .
With someone on council now who knows the ins and outs of transit hopefully the “no bus on statutory holidays” annoyance will be changed. Drivers do cost a bit more those days but at least a skeleton crew to help get people around.
