Where do I find out which team is against which team ?
Eg: Women’s Hockey–Who against Who ????
You can find out here http://www.canadagames2015.ca/experience-the-games/games-schedule
But maybe someone else will know of a more user-friendly way?
is anything free? or do you need tickets for everything?
I think that you need tickets for all of the athletic events and award ceremeonies but that much of the entertainment is free. In particular, events in the Lheidli pavilion are free and I believe those in the Plaza are also free.
Go to Sportscanada.tv and they have a list of all events that they will covering live.
Ticketmaster has ticket information.
This has to be one of the most unorganized online events I have ever seen. You have to go to 2 different sites to see events. You have to search out info everywhere as far as tickets, what’s free, what isn’t. No online live streaming of the opening ceremonies.
No app that we can install to get live updates and event info.
Who planned the online campaign?
Yes the planning by the city image makers has been very poor as well.
I had been saying well before the games that the city needed to embark on a viewscape project to identify the areas we could open up and identify as places of interest for national TV and media, and nothing was done.
I watch the coverage on the news and the images we have seen so far is a baron windswept farmers field end of the runway at the airport that looks like Siberia for the athletes arrival. Why all the money spent on the arrivals area and lounge if the images we broadcast are like they were of Siberia.
Then on Global today we see their main image of PG being a baron 3rd avenue representing our downtown and hopes for revitalization (could they have picked a worse spot)… and a melted ice oval for the investments we made in facilities. Its no wonder the rest of the province views us as near nomads living in igloos in a have asz backwards hinterland work camp.
Things like the view from UNBC parking lot use to be a fantastic draw to the city… before all the trees overgrew the viewscape… why not cut them down and plant some lawn there with benches so visitors can enjoy the best of what we have to offer. Why not have Cannaught Hill open for the games and the trails in the parks maintained considering the weather we have anyways?
Just totally inept leadership when it comes to promoting the image of the city IMO. I think the Lheidi have done the better job promoting PG so far.
Agree that the communication has been bad…really bad and not just restricted to Games events. The only ones that seem to know what’s going on is the media and maybe not even them. The media commentaries seem to be grasping for discussion topics. What’s up with that?! I wonder if the media are as much in the dark as the regular Joe is.
Can you imagine what’s going on behind the scenes?

FOUND IT.
It was not there a few days ago BUT it is there now.
PG Winter Games Home Page under Calendar.
Good to Go now.
Have Fun at the Games.
Go BC Go
The games have been FANTASTIC so far. The visitors and athletes are all extremely happy and complimentary of our fine city. The venues look great, and things ran really well today. This is a very positive moment for our city, and it’s awesome to see so many thousands of volunteers helping to make this a success, and making their contributions to make all of us proud of PG. (Well, most of us…..there’s always the armchair critics but who cares!)
