Prince George- Six people escaped serious injury today in a fire that sent two adults and four young children fleeing from a home in the 2600 block of Abbott Crescent.

On arrival at the fire, firefighters found the six people  standing outside of the home. They were all taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke in the home , which took over an hour to clear up.

The basement of the home sustained significant damage . A preliminary  investigation suggests the fire was accidental .

There is no estimate of damage.
