Alexa’s Bus Road Check Nets Wanted Man
Prince George, B.C. – An Alberta man and woman are in custody having been arrested on Highway 16 east in a Road Safety Check.
(At right, DriveBC webcam catches action of truck being examined by police while RCMP red and blue lights flash on the Alexa Bus)Monday afternoon , North District RCMP’s Integrated Road Safety Unit along with North District Regional Provincial Traffic Services and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement were conducting a Road Safety Check supported by the Mobile Road Safety Unit ( Alexa’s Bus) on Highway 16 east.
A male driving a red ford F350 pulling a cargo trailer pulled up to the location. After speaking with the male, RCMP members soon entered into an investigation and confirmed the truck and trailer had been reported stolen out of Alberta.
The 29 year old male and his female passenger were arrested on scene. The male was wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for his arrest in relation to the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and numerous other charges stemming from an incident in Strathcona Alberta.
29 year old David Allan Lenkewich and his 29 year old female passenger have been held in custody.
Lenkewich is charged with two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, Possession of a controlled substance and obstruction.
The female is facing drug related charges.
Lenkewich will be returned to Alberta to face charges there once the BC charges have been dealt with.
