No Medal For Speeding
Prince George, B.C.- Drivers heading to Canada Games Venues are reminded to slow down, there is no medal awarded for speeding.
The Prince George RCMP and the RCMP’s Integrated Security Unit have extra officers on the roads in Prince George and on the highways to ensure everyone gets to the venues safely.
The Ministry of Transportation has erected temporary reduced speed zones on Highway 16 at the turn offs to Tabor Mountain and Purden Mountain ski resorts. All drivers traveling on these stretches of highway should be aware of the reduced speed zones and ensure they abide by posted speeds.
A number of Motor Vehicle Act violation tickets have been issued since the beginning of the 2015 Games. One vehicle has been impounded for 7 days as a result of excessive speed.
