How Much is that Art in the Window?
Prince George, BC – It’s a new program aimed at dressing up the storefronts of empty buildings in downtown Prince George.

The program is part of the Community Arts Council’s ‘Artnerships’ program and the first installment is in the empty retail space owned by John and Tracy Kason at 1244- 4th Avenue and features the photography of Terry Kite.
It is thought this program will improve the look of downtown as well as the value of the property . The improved look should help landlords and realtors reach their lease or sales goal for the property and gives the artists a place to showcase their work.
“It is our hope that the Artnerships project not only provides alternatives for both established and emerging artists alike, but also provides businesses with a low-cost alternative for art for their spaces” says Raine Gould, the Arts Coordinator for the Prince George and District Community Arts Council.

good thinking, thinking outside the box.
so do artists pay to rent a spot in an abandoned store front window? or do the property owners rent the art from artist to make their place look better? at least we can hide our abandoned downtown buildings
