Prince George- 250 Photographer Stan Kuzma says this is the first time he has seen a pygmy owl in 20 years around PG. You can compare the size of this little owl to the chickadee sitting nearby . These little owls normally have a diet of mice, insects and small birds,  which means that little chickadee is very brave..

They are a fearless ferocious day time predator , that  normally lives in the 3,000 to 6000 ft elevation but in the Rockies live in areas up to 12,000 ft.

They may migrate down from the mountains in the winter
