Drugs Discovered in Routine Speeding Infraction Stop

Prince George, B.C. – A Road Safety check on Highway 16 east at Purden Mountain on Tuesday February 24th saw police seize a sizeable cache of drugs.
A male driving a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stopped as a result of the driver failing to slow for the venue posted speed limit.
After speaking with the male driver, the RCMP member soon entered into an investigation that was beyond a speeding ticket. As a result, police located a large quantity of drugs consisting of Methamphetamine and marijuana.
A 56 year old man was arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and transported to the Prince George RCMP Detachment. He has since been released on a Promise To Appear for a later court date.
