Prince George, B.C. – Prince George RCMP are reporting that a young child has died as a result of injuries suffered in a vehicular accident earlier this afternoon.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says that just before 12:30pm, police and other emergency services responded to a report that a 3-year-old child had been seriously injured by a vehicle in a residential neighbourhood near Massey Drive and Ospika Boulevard.

The child was transported to University Hospital of Northern BC, but died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

Further details on what occurred are not available at this time. The RCMP and the Coroner’s Service are investigating the tragic incident.
