Prince George, B.C. – A prestigious award for a School District 57 student.
Emily O’Reilly, a grade 12 student at College Heights Secondary School, has won a gold medal at the annual Taiwan International Science Fair.
It was for her project entitled “Ancient Knowledge, Modern Approach,” which examined the ways in which the apricot kernel has medicinal value.
“School District 57 should be very proud of all our students,” says Trustee Bruce Wiebe, the liaison for College Heights Secondary School. “I’m looking forward to seeing how this will be applied for health purposes in the year ahead.”
Wiebe made the announcement at tonight’s School Board meeting.
