MP Zimmer Poses Questions on Public Safety
Ottawa, Ont. – Prince George Peace River MP Bob Zimmer posed some questions to RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson, during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security.
The briefing included the public viewing of the cellphone video made by Michael Zehaf-Bibeau prior to his attack in Ottawa that left Nathan Cirillo dead and members of Parliament hunkered down in a room with the door barricaded while shots rang out in the hallway of the Parliament building.
Zimmer started a question, recognizing they were sitting in the same room where they had huddled during Zehaf-Bibeau’s attack in October “It’s a little interesting being in the same room where, just feet away, the person came through with guns blazing. It’s interesting to be in the same room, dealing with it on the other side. It’s appropriate, too, in a lot of ways, that we’re back.” Zimmer went on to ask Commissioner Paulson if terrorism is a present danger in Canadian Society, what would Paulson say to Canadians today?
Commissioner Paulson confirmed terrorism is a “growing threat” but added “People don’t need to be afraid People need to be engaged. People need to be aware. I think that’s how I’d frame it. Make no mistake, it’s a growing presence, and it’s not only in Canada but in most of our partner countries, at a level that is challenging us all.”

Zimmer is talking to himself? :)
You need a “report typo” button.
At least he asked a credible question, and as usual you make no sense.
So we have a room full of PTSD types deciding how many rights should be surrendered and the lack of oversight for this legislation. Bob the bomb shelter Zimmer wants to know if the threat of terrorism has increased as he tries to rush through the legislation without proper debate…. Seems like a conflict of interest to me.

You need try harder; your attempts at witty insults are weak.
I was pointing out that this needs editing:
“MP Bob Zimmer posed some questions to RCMP Commissioner Bob Zimmer”
I would like Zimmer to ask what the Harper Government plans to do about the 192,000 TFW (temporary foreign workers) whose non-renewable visas expire April 1.
herbster, please leave Bob alone he is trying very hard to be relected.
Cheers

It’s a fact that there are two types of Conservatives, rich ones and stupid ones. The stupid ones keep the wealthy rich and the rich ones keep the stupid ones stupid.
“Commissioner Paulson confirmed terrorism is a “growing threat” but added “People don’t need to be afraid People need to be engaged. People need to be aware. I think that’s how I’d frame it.””

That seems like a pretty reasonable message. It probably also drives the Conservatives nuts given the way they try to frame the discussion whenever they open their mouths.
What we have here is a Conservative Government in power, and a few crestfallen Liberals and NDP’ers on the outside looking in,. Sort of like a hungry kid looking through the window of a candy store.
Herbster trips over himself every day trying to be the first to criticize Harper. Harper of course is unaware of the shenanigans of the Herbster because he is to busy running the country.
There may be two types of Conservatives, ie; rich, and stupid, however from the comments we get from the Herbster, we could probably say the stupid Conservatives are a step above the competition.,
How is it that Conservatives are so full themselves as their party struggles to win 1/3 of the vote?
herbster, how is it that the NDP and the Liberals continue to be irrelevant?
Eagleone, having known Bob Zimmer for many years and after reading your regular “opinions” on this site, I feel extremely confident that Bob has both a far greater work ethic and moral compass than you!
Bob may have a great work ethic but unless he is actively working behind the scenes to oust Harper and his inner circle in the PMO then my opinion is that his moral compass is broken. I say this as a conservative member in the PG Peace riding who is greatly disillusioned with Harper and who will not be voting for Bob this time around.

The NDP and Liberals currently appeal to over 54% of Canadians, the Conservatives 32.6%. Who is irrelevant? As far as ethics and moral compass goes, perhaps you haven’t seen this link

Personally I could care less about their sexual orientation, but as a member of a party that supposedly is pro family values, you just might.
