Prince George, B.C. – Don’t panic if you see black smoke coming from the Prince George Airport.
YXS has scheduled routine aviation fires in the fire training area for today and tomorrow.
Training starts this morning at 11:30 and will run until 2:30 and will continue tomorrow at the same time.
Though these fires have caused concern from local residents in the past, YXS says the fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and pose no threat to the public or surrounding areas.

But remember folks, we can’t have campfires in our backyards… but they can burn hundreds of ltrs of diesel in the sake of ‘training’ ….
So folks just remember should your plane crash between 11:30 am to 2:30 pm the YXS fire department can save you. However outside the a fore mentioned hours, you are out of luck, they are not trained in evening and early morning fire/rescue operations.
