Wind Warning Posted for Prince George Area
Prince George, B.C. – Should your plans for today include activities outdoors you should note that the weather in the city is expected to be a little nasty and contains a wind warning from Environment Canada.
The warning issued this morning states:
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. Gusty southwesterly winds are expected in the wake of an area of low pressure crossing the BC Interior today. Wind gusts reaching 90 km/h are possible this afternoon.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.
The forecast is for a few showers this morning ending near noon, then clearing. Wind south 30 km/h gusting to 50, becoming southwest 60 gusting to 90 near noon. The high 12 with the temperature then falling to 6 this afternoon.
A few clouds tonight with southwest winds at 40 km/h gusting to 60, then becoming light this evening. Low minus 4.
