Hydro Crews Busy in Wake of Storm
Prince George, B.C. – B.C. Hydro crews throughout the Central Interior and Northern regions of the province continue working on restoring power to areas affected by Saturday’s storm.
Winds gusting to 90 km/h pounded a large part of the province but it was the northern half of BC which took the brunt of the storm and left many areas without power. B.C. Hydro says more than 6 thousand customers in the Central Interior are still affected today. That includes 2,492 in multiple pockets in and around Prince George plus more than three thousand in the Quesnel and Williams Lake areas.
As well, just under three thousand customers in the Northern region are waiting for their power to be restored. Some customers in Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Fort St. James, Vanderhoof, Burns Lake, Smithers and Masset are affected.
B.C. Hydro says it hopes to have everybody back up and running by noon.

POWER went out at my place at 2:00 pm,power was restored at 3:00 am. THERE was a lot of trees down across the lines, even snapped a hydro pole. SO all in all a job well done B.C. HYDRO…..KUDOS!
I think there are more than a few people in Miworth fairly pissed with BC Hydro! Blocking the road for 6 hours when there was clearly a safe path to go around was not exactly smart. There was far more danger involved in people walkng down the railway tracks in a wind storm and avoiding trains.
yes sure is a pain in the exterior but as long as the lines are still live a electrical field is transmitted a fair distance thru the ground.THE guards can not let you thru for obvious reasons. if people want to walk the tracks near those big swaying fir trees fly at er. YOU can not fix stupid. THERES AN old saying out west your a long time dead.
