Medical Marijuana Back Before City Council
Prince George, B.C. – Zoning, which would clarify where and under what conditions a medical marijuana grow operation can be established, is back before Prince George City Council as a public hearing will examine options for where such facilities should be located. Staff recommend medical marijuana grow operations be allowed in a new narcotic (n) sub-zone designation under the categories of Agriculture, Agriculture and Forestry, Light Industrial, General Industrial and Business Industrial.
It means anyone wanting to establish such an operation would have to apply to have a rezoning to add the (n) designation to the zoning.
There are also parcel sizes and setbacks to be considered, as well as certain screening, parking and lighting requirements.
Staff recommend the BCR, Danson and Boundary Road industrial Parks are the preferred sites for a medical marijuana grow facility.

I thought there was one at the end of third avenue in the big white building
They should be allowed anywhere a brewery or winery would be.
As long as the facility is properly secured it shouldn’t matter. Since Colorado legalized it, it has brought in over 60 million in revenue. Before that they were spending 140 million on fighting it. 200 million more to spend on health care,schools…..
You’re making the assumption that they stopped fighting it Carpenter. I bet the regulations, control and enforcement dollars have gone up since legalization.
I am assuming we can watch this live off of the city website?
