UNBC and Faculty Association Continue Working On Offers
Prince George, B.C.- The picket lines remain in place, and while there is no exact time for a face to face meeting, UNBC’s Vice President External Relations, Rob Van Adrichem says both sides continue working on proposals.“That’s not to say talks have broken off” says Van Adrichem, “both sides are working (on proposals).”
He says reviewing proposals and counter proposals takes time “because it’s not as simple as each person receiving 1% more”.
The UNBC Faculty Association had expected to hear by noon Sunday on when the University would like to meet.
Although settling this labour dispute is a priority, Van Adrichem says there is a great deal of work to be done not only on the contract proposals, but staff are also working on the new budget for presentation to the Board of Governors.
The strike started March 5th.
