Prince George, B.C. – You can expect delays along highway 16 west near Costco the next while as emergency crews are currently clearing a two vehicle collision.

RCMP Corporal Craig Douglass says it happened sometime between 11:00 and 11:30 this morning.

He can’t confirm yet if there have been any injuries but says it does not appear to be a fatal crash.

I hope everyone is okay, as for this intersection they need to change the turning lanes so that they have a separate light and can only turn on their green.

Start writing letters to our local government or anyone who will/can do something to evoke change.

The same should go for the intersection at Hwy.16 and Ferry Avenue.

Why wait until there is a fatality as was the case up the hill at Domano/Hwy 16?

mama t tell the Highways minister we need left turn BIKE LANES at two locations on Hwy 16 Seems if you involve bike lanes the government will get KY over it and jump on it.

That whole intersection is redundant and should be removed. It has the highest traffic volumes in Northern BC and causes traffic congestion throughout the area, and in the winter one car stops the light to cross and fifty have to stop including big highway rigs that can not then make the hill causing all sorts of other more serious implications.

Coming from Cowart Road across to Costco one can always merge onto highway 16 and then use the left turn lane at the Husky. Those looking to head west can also use that same intersection at Husky.

What the city needs to really make this happen is to complete the road beside Superstore over to Costco so that people are not forced out onto the highway for a do around between the two shopping areas. Completing that road should be the cities top priority at this time.

But no need to worry, as the Clark Brigade is going to be spending millions on our roads. Christy has it all under control. Hurrah.

Hello, the 2 girls are in hospital and I am a close friend of the oldest daughter and am glad to report that both girls are stable and are going to be fine. Both suffered trauma and broken bones. When I was on my way to the hospital, I just about got into an accident the same way because of people going to fast and racing traffic lights. Please think about if a love one had been hit? You would want others to slow down and drive safe. Please drive with care cause you never know if your loved one will be next. – Zack Bussieres

chloe: I suppose next, you would want railway type barriers to come down to stop people from turning.
Really, it all comes down to people not paying attention or trying to keep themselves safe, in other words, personal responsibility.
We spend millions of dollars on our roads to make them “safer” but no money on driver education. That’s where the responsibility belongs. If drivers aren’t safe themselves, then no road anywhere will be safe.
The drivers who are at fault in an accident should be made to take more training.

They need to start toughening up the requirements to get and to keep a license. No amount of lights or lanes can fix all the stupid out there.
