Hometown Hockey Tour Hits Prince George
Prince George, BC – While the satellite dish and equipment trucks rolled into Prince George last week, the outdoor hockey activities that are part of the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour get underway outside CN Centre a little later today…
Prince George is the 22nd community to be visited as part of this winter’s cross-country tour. The free weekend-long outdoor festival kicks off at noon and features games and challenges for the kids and those young at heart, local entertainment, and a number of prize giveaways until 6pm.
Tomorrow’s schedule also begins at noon, with Kirk McLean, Geoff Courtnall, and Tara Slone headlining the Scotiabank Hotstove at 1:30pm. The Prince George winner of the ‘Cheer Like Never Before’ contest will be announced at 4:15pm – the four finalists include: the West Fraser Wolves, Quesnel’s PeeWee House green team; the Purple Devils, PG’s Atom House II Team 5; the Atomic Bruins, also from PG’s Atom Division; and the Nusdeh Yoh Fighten’ Sturgeon, from PG’s Inner City Elementary School League.
