Lakeland Inquest Adjourned

Wednesday, March 25, 2015 @ 12:38 PM

Prince George, B.C. – The Lakeland inquest into the deaths of Alan Little and Glenn Roche has been adjourned until a date to be determined.

Chief Coroner Lisa Lapointe informed the jurors of this development just moments ago.

Inquest counsel John Orr asked for the adjournment because it had come to light that WorkSafeBC had been aware for at least two years of the existence of a separate investigation that had been commissioned by the lawyers for the mill.

The BC Coroners Service had not been made aware of the investigation until it came out through questioning of witnesses from the mill’s management during the inquest proceedings the past three weeks.

No date has been set for the resumption of the inquest.
