Highway 97 Fully Re-opened Following Fatal Collision
Prince George, B.C. – North District RCMP are advising that Highway 97, 10 kilometres north of McLeod Lake, is now fully re-opened to traffic.
The highway has been closed since approximately 7 this morning when a small car and a pick-up collided head-on at the Bear Creek bridge, 200 metres north of the entrance to Tudyah Lake Provincial Park.
Two 18-year-old youth from Mackenzie who were travelling in the car were pronounced deceased at the scene. Two people in the truck suffered serious injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment. The injuries were described as non-life threatening. The identities of the people involved in the collision have not been released.
