Prince George, B.C. – Two Mackenzie youth killed in a two vehicle car crash last Friday have been identified.

The BC Coroners Service says they were Leslie David Avery Jr., aged 17, and Ian Daryl Potvin, aged 16.

Avery was driving a car heading northbound on Highway 97, about 200 metres north of Tudyah Lake Provincial Park just before 7 that morning, when it collided with a southbound pickup truck hauling a flatbed trailer.

Both Avery, and passenger Potvin, were deceased at the scene.

The occupants of the pick-up truck were taken to hospital where they were treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate.

The RCMP originally reported the deceased were both 18 years old.
