Telkwa Man Identified as Victim of Fatal Weekend Crash

Prince George, B.C. – The BC Coroners Service has identified the man killed in a motor-vehicle collision in a remote area near Smithers last Saturday night.

He was William Edward Gush, aged 61, of Telkwa.

Gush was driving a pickup truck on the Babine Lake Road that night when he stopped the truck and got out of it.

A second pickup truck going in the same direction hit Mr. Gush’s truck and then hit Gush as he was standing next to the truck.

He was deceased at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle was arrested and is under investigation by the RCMP for impaired driving causing death.
