Tuesday, April 14, 2015 @ 5:00 PM

Williams Lake, B.C. – A new mass emergency notification system is set to launch in the Cariboo.

The Everbridge Emergency Notification System, led by the Cariboo Regional District, includes the participation of the District of 100 Mile House, the City of Williams Lake, the City of Quesnel, and the District of Wells.

“This new emergency notification system will provide the affected communities and its residents with the required information immediately in an emergency situation,” says CRD Chair Al Richmond. “Keeping our residents safe and informed during emergency events is a priority and responsibility that we take seriously and we feel this platform will help provide us a better way of serving our communities.”

Cariboo residents can choose up to six different ways to be notified about emergency and time-sensitive events including:

Home phone
Office phone
Cell phone
Mobile App
Email

You can register by visiting your local government’s website and selecting the “Sign Up For Emergency Notifications” icon.

The system launches May 5.
