Williams Lake, BC – As part of its permit applications for the proposed re-start of Mount Polley Mine, the company will hold another open house for community residents, this time in Williams Lake.

The meetings are part of a 30-day Public Comment Period related to the re-start applications. (click here, for previous story)

The first meeting was held in Likely, the community most impacted when disaster struck at the open pit gold and copper mine last August and a design fault resulted in the tailings pond breaching its dam.

The Williams Lake open house is set for next Wednesday evening, April 22nd, between 6:30pm and 8:30pm in the Gibraltar Room of the Cariboo Memorial Rec Complex.  Mount Polley officials say representatives from the regional, provincial and federal government have also been invited to attend.

A decision on the permit applications is expected to come in early June.
