Premier to Skip Annual P.G. Event

Thursday, April 16, 2015 @ 4:00 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The annual Premier’s Dinner at the Civic Centre in Prince George tomorrow will be missing a key participant – the Premier herself.

According to the BC Liberals, Premier Christy Clark cannot make it to this year’s sold-out event because she will be addressing the World Bank in Washington DC Friday where she’ll be speaking about BC’s Climate Action Plan.

According to Victoria, “Premier Clark will talk specifically about B.C.’s carbon tax, which sets a powerful example for the world.”

The government also notes this is the first time a Canadian premier has been invited to speak at this forum.

The event is a fundraiser in support of Liberal MLAs Shirley Bond, John Rustad, Coralee Oakes, and Mike Morris.

Can you feel her support…lol

“Families first”

Just not ours

The ‘Carbon Tax’ should be well received by the world’s bankers at the World Bank. Anything that indebts the already over-indebted public further under some specious guise, like saving us all from supposed global warming, is bound to get her a good reception there. And show her real masters just who she’s actually working for.

Isn’t it actually a good thing that the Premier is giving priority to an event at which she will represent BC over a fund raiser for her own party? I’m not a supporter of her party, but in this instance it sounds like she’s taking the high road.

so why didn’t Clark join the rest of the provinces at the environment conference. Oh I know she dances to her corporate donors in their belief that there is no climate change.

The carbon tax is a joke.. Buy some tax credits and pollute away.. She should be embarrassed by this..not pitching it. There are people who’s only job is to,shuffle the credits around between companies.. Guessing she will pitch that as job creation.

That really makes me laugh. A bunch of people who have in all likely hood never ran for public office in their life and would have a hard time getting the nod for Mayor McCheese at the local Mickey D’s passing judgement on someone who through hard work and determination became premier of the province.

Hey sparrow, ha, ha, ha, ha.
Cheers

Sold out event?

Must have been a full 25 tickets available.

Like I’ve said repeatedly, run for public office on the municipal, provincial or federal levels, get elected and facilitate change, if that’s what you want.
If you haven’t got the stones or brains to do that, STFU. Any *****can take gratuitous jabs at people in public office, especially while hiding behind the anonymity of the internet.
If you want my respect work to effect the change you want within the system.

In your sense for, are veiws on policy and management of our society considered gratuitous jabs ? Did you see her latest land deal ? Our elected officials and their cronies are ours at our pleasure though the voting booth . Not the other way around .

VOR… you just took gratuitous jabs at people with your STFU comment through anonymity. I guess that makes you a ****.

Come on, I thought you were smarter than that – the carbon tax is nothing about trading credits in BC. The Ontario and Quebec cap and trade system on the other hand is, along with most of the world’s carbon credit system. Buy farm land in BC and you can pollute more in the EU (makes no sense).

Here you go, educate yourself

Good point WorkingWoman! Maybe because the Environment Conference is being held in Mississauga? Much nicer to have an expense paid trip to Washington instead.

Besides, her lack of knowledge on the issue would be easily spotted at the environmental conference. In Washington all she has to do is read a speech written by someone else.
